FORTEC Integrated (formerly Distec) is part of the FORTEC Group and develops and distributes solutions in the fields of display technology and embedded computing that require clear explanation. The variety of topics, diverse application areas and technical details call for continuous and professionally precise communication with the trade press.
The collaboration began with the distribution of a press release more than ten years ago. From this starting point, it developed into a long-term partnership that continues today, with a focus on ongoing media relations.
This includes press releases for trade publications in Europe, expert articles, and interviews, press briefings at trade fairs, as well as accompanying advertising campaigns. In addition, I support the identification of relevant topics, the prioritization of content, and the contextualization of new developments for communication.
The project illustrates long-term media relations that relieve companies in their day-to-day operations while ensuring continuity in public perception. Through ongoing support, topics, milestones, and content remain clearly in view—regardless of internal resources or changing priorities.
Current press releases from this collaboration are documented in the Newsroom.
“With our broad portfolio ranging from display distribution to embedded solutions, Mandy Ahlendorf has been instrumental in getting our messages published in the trade press. As a result, customers and prospective clients gain a clear understanding of how we can support their needs. In developing press releases, technical articles, and interviews, I particularly value her ability to turn limited input or data sheets into coherent and compelling stories.“
Dieter Kiermaier, Former Head of Sales & Marketing Components, Distec GmbH
KD is a Spanish semiconductor company focused on optical high-speed networks for demanding environments. At the beginning of the collaboration, there was no clear structure, no consistent external communication, and no systematic press or media relations. The website, content, and communication activities existed in parts, but were not strategically integrated.
In the first years, the focus was on the strategic development of the entire communication framework. I was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of all marketing communications—from positioning and international media relations to the conceptual and editorial development of the website.
This included press releases, expert articles, interviews, press briefings, and editorial visits, as well as the setup and management of social media channels and the development of newsletters and marketing materials. In the early phase, the collaboration also included communication support for trade fair appearances.
The project illustrates the establishment and long-term development of a professional communications structure within a growing company. As the internal marketing department expanded over time, my role gradually shifted from a strategically leading function to more operational support.
The collaboration continues to this day and is characterized by mutual trust. Press releases from the international media relations activities with trade publications in Europe, the United States and Asia can be found in the Newsroom.

Before our collaboration began, Oliver Schneider primarily appeared in the context of his company RiskWorkers. An independent positioning as an expert and speaker had not yet been clearly defined. With the publication of his book “Der Wille entscheidet“, the need arose to bring his ideas, topics, and experience into an independent and publicly visible form.
The central starting point was the conceptual and editorial development of a speaker website. The goal was to structure the expertise clearly, place the topics in context, and present them in a way that is clear and accessible for event organizers, companies, and the media.
I developed the content structure, was responsible for the texts, and coordinated the implementation together with design and IT partners. In addition, I supported the distribution of the press release for the book launch in relevant trade publications and accompanied the ongoing maintenance and development of the website.
At the end of 2025, the website underwent a comprehensive relaunch with a sharpened thematic focus in order to further improve discoverability and visibility.
The project illustrates the positioning of an individual with extensive experience whose ideas and expertise require clear structure and precise language. The collaboration is long-term in nature and takes place both on a project basis and through ongoing strategic exchange—with the focus on providing context, making content understandable and communicating it in a precise and appropriate way.
The press release for the book launch was published by the publisher and distributed by me to relevant trade publications; it is documented in the Newsroom.

“Thanks to the professional PR and design support of Mandy Ahlendorf, not only was a website created that authentically reflects our values and positioning, but numerous additional PR initiatives were realized as well. With great creativity, a strong sense for communication and a high level of professionalism, the collaboration has been enriching at all times. We sincerely thank her for the inspiring, trusting and successful cooperation.“

The MOST Cooperation (MOSTCO) was an international organization dedicated to the standardization and further development of MOST (Media Oriented Systems Transport) technology. Its goal was to establish the technology as a global standard and to adapt its development to evolving industrial requirements. At the beginning of the collaboration, there was no external public communication; communication was directed exclusively toward members, partners and internal committees.
The collaboration was long-term in nature and included the full development and implementation of the organization’s external communications. I was strategically involved in the steering committee and responsible for the concept, setup, and execution of all PR and marketing activities.
This included international media relations with press releases, expert articles, interviews, press briefings, and press conferences, as well as the development and ongoing editorial evolution of the website. Another key focus was the conception and organization of the industry conference “MOST Forum“, including program development, the call for papers, coordination of speakers, exhibitors and partners, and communication support before, during, and after the event.
In addition, marketing and information materials were developed in collaboration with graphic designers, along with the association magazine “MOST Informative“, for which I held editorial responsibility, including an accompanying newsletter.
The project illustrates strategic communications at the organizational level involving a wide range of stakeholders. The task was to bring together different perspectives from industry, technology, and management, place topics in context and establish a consistent external presence.
The collaboration ended in 2016, when the technology was incorporated into international standards, and the communication work had fulfilled its purpose.
“Sending press releases by email or offering interviews—many PR agencies can do that. Acting as a bridge between editorial teams and companies, while understanding the needs of both sides, is something only very few truly achieve. I have worked with Mandy Ahlendorf for more than 15 years in my editorial roles at various trade publishers and know her as a fast and, above all, reliable contact who prepares content with a clear focus on the target audience. Mandy not only understands the media landscape but also brings strong technical and industry expertise. In today’s PR agency environment, that is far from a given.“
Stefanie Eckardt, Editor Next Mobility/ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS, Vogel Communications Group
RUETZ SYSTEM SOLUTIONS was a technology-oriented service provider working with complex systems and solutions that require clear explanation. At the beginning of the collaboration, the central question was how the company could be clearly positioned in order to attract the right customers and projects.
The collaboration began with a strategic workshop to align the company’s content and communication. From this starting point, it developed into a long-term partnership that continued for more than ten years.
The focus was on the continuous strategic support of the company’s communications—from positioning and media relations to the conceptual and editorial development of the website. Media relations were international in scope and included trade publications in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
This included press releases, expert articles, interviews, and press briefings, as well as the structured development of the website in collaboration with design and IT partners. In addition, social media communication was conceptually established and supported over several years.
The project illustrates a long-term strategic collaboration in which communication was approached as an integrated whole rather than through isolated measures. My role was that of an external sparring partner with a view of the bigger picture—structuring, providing context, and offering strategic impulses.
Especially during periods of high internal workload, the collaboration ensured continuity, clarity, and reliable external communication.
(The collaboration ended following the company’s acquisition by in-tech GmbH.)
“It‘s always a pleasure to work with Mandy Ahlendorf. She fully understands our targets and markets thus providing just the right ideas on how to address the corresponding press. Very successful is her broad media knowledge and personal contacts to journalists reaching from electronics over industrial and medtech up to architecture and lighting press. Always being informed about publishing opportunities she keeps on setting up technical articles and having them published. Also for trade shows, numerous press interviews are arranged by her—resulting in high quality publishments.“
Diane Damer, Former Marketing Manager, MAZeT GmbH (today integrated in ams OSRAM)
“I would like to thank Mandy Ahlendorf for her dedication and reliability throughout our collaboration. Thanks to her work, we were able to publish more press releases than ever before.“
Tatiana Kromhout, Former Marketing & Sales, ZEON Europe GmbH
Whether selective support or a longer-term collaboration is the right fit depends on your topics, goals and starting point.
An initial conversation usually makes it clear how communication can be structured in a meaningful way—and what the next practical steps might be.
If you would like to explore this together, I look forward to the conversation.
